Stefan Markovic might have played only two games in March but they were more than enough to grant him the VTB League monthly MVP award.

Thanks to the Serbian guard’s performances, Zenit beat Unics Kazan and Lokomotiv Kuban, gaining an advantage for finishing second at the end of the regular season.

Markovic averaged 14.5 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 21 PIR in these games, being the top performer and passer of his squad. He beat Suleiman Braimoh (Enisey) and Cory Higgins (CSKA Moscow), being chosen by the League and Tass agency as the one who should win the MVP.

The 28-year-old play maker is succeeding Alexey Shved, who won the award in February for the second time in the season after November. Previous VTB League monthly MVPs are Keith Langford of Unics Kazan (October), Andrey Zubkov of Lokomotiv Kuban (December) and Sergey Karasev, Markovic’s teammate in Zenit St. Petersburg who won the honor in January.
