Zenit made the 2-0 against Khimki and prevailed at home with 92-89, with Ryan Toolson’s 24 points paving the way. Sergey Karasev added 21 for the winners, while for Dusko Ivanovic’s team, Alexey Shved stopped at 23 points.
The visiting team was dominant in the first quarter, leading 18-28, then the Zenit side trimmed to 40-49.
While the hosts reduced the deficit in the second half, Khimki still had the upper hand after 30 minutes with a 65-68 lead.
Toolson gave Zenit the lead with less than a minute remaining in the game with 86-84, sealing a slight advantage until the end of the game.
