Isaiah Briscoe scored 21 points, including draining two key pairs of free throws in the last minute, and dished out 5 assists, propelling Kalev Tallinn to its second win in a row in VTB League.

The Estonian side defeated Avtodor Saratov 95 – 89 at home and improved its league record to 6 – 13, to remain close to the playoff zone.

Meanwhile, Saratov fell to 8-8 and the sixth spot in the standings. Coty Clarke notched 23 points plus 6 rebounds for the Russian team.

This weekend in VTB League also had in store a major surprise since Tsmoki Minsk forced championship powerhouse Lokomotiv Kuban to its fifth defeat of the season. Coach Sasa Obradovic‘s players probably had in mind the first EuroCup semifinal against Reggio Emilia, as the Serbian coach said admitted the game.

CSKA Moscow and Khimki Moscow had the week off due to their upcoming EuroLeague obligations that include two games in four days.
