Israel will be one of the co-hosts of the FIBA Eurobasket 2017 and their next target is to host the FIBA World Cup of 2023

Israel will be one of the co-hosts of the FIBA Eurobasket 2017 and their next target is to host the FIBA World Cup of 2023.

The Israeli basketball federation – IBBA – announced today that they have already send the initial paperwork to FIBA in order to be candidates for the tournament of 2023. The 2019 World Cup will be held in China and FIBA after a meeting which will be held on the 1st and 2nd of the upcoming November will announce which will be the candidates for hosting the 2023 event.

As you can see in the photo, a statue with the hashtag of Eurobasket 2017 was unveiled in Tel Aviv and the same happend in the other three co-hosting cities (Cluj-Napoca, Helsinki, Istanbul).
