A last-second three point shot by Petr Gubanov granted Nizhny Novgord its firs victory in this season’s Eurocup, forcing Lietkabelis its first defeat with a 75 – 72 final score.
The Russian team held a small advantage in the fourth quarter (60 – 66 with less than five minutes to go) but their opponents easily caught up with them. Gubanov gave the game-winning solution, while on the other end Lukauskis couldn’t tie the match for the Lithuanians.
Gubanov was also the top scorer for Nizhny with 20 points, while DeAndre Kane registered a superb double-double of 17 points/11 assists, while also grabbing 7 rebounds.
