Xavi Pascual arrived in Greece this afternoon in order to sign his contract with Panathinaikos and talked about how he feels on becoming head coach of the six-time Euroleague champions.

Xavi Pascual arrived in Greece this afternoon in order to sign his contract and officially join Panathinaikos. The Spanish coach talked about how he feels on becoming head coach of the six-time Euroleague champions, stating that he “loves” his new team.

“I am very happy to be here. The club, management, players and fans will be united in order to finish the season quite well. I love my job, Greek basketball and Panathinaikos. So I am very happy. I like Greek basketball. Greece has a tradition. The honor of being here is mine. It’s an honor to be a part of a team with such a big history.”

Regarding the possibility of Panathinaikos signing new players, he said: “After my official presentation by the club we will further discuss this matter. That’s it for now. Thank you for being here.”
