The upcoming NBA draft is also a catalyst for trades and that was proven today with New York sending Spanish guard Jose Calderon to Chicago in a package deal that includes Derrick Rose leaving the Bulls for the Knicks.

Once more Adrian Wojnarowski and the Vertical broke the news, with Rose going to the Knicks in exchange for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Calderon. The Knicks are also gettingJustin Holiday and a 2017 2nd-round pick according to K.C.Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

This was not the first trade of the day, as the Atlanta Hawks are sending guard Jeff Teague to the Indiana Pacers. Indiana will send guard George Hill to the Jazz, who are moving the No. 12 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft to Atlanta.

As Wojnarowski comments: “With the move, Atlanta is committing to guard Dennis Schroder as its point guard of the future”.
