Vassilis Spanoulis talked for Eurohoops camera, discussing his emotions after hearing that the Euroleague Final Four will return to Istanbul in 2017. After all, who can forget what happened in the same city back in 2012 when he won the competition’s trophy with the Reds.

“My memories from Istanbul are fantastic. The whole Europe admired what we were putting on court in 2011/2012 Especially in the second half of the season, when we played great basketball”, said the captain of Olympiacos about lifting the Euroleague trophy in “Sinan Erdem”.

“The comeback in the Final vs CSKA Moscow with Printezis’ buzzer beater was the greatest of my career.”, he added. “And the most difficult one, taking into account how powerful the two teams were and what targets they had set in the beginning of the season. The comeback of the Greek national team against France in the Eurobasket 2005 was also very difficult. Different but quite difficult too. Both were incredible moments, that’s for sure.”
