It can’t get better than this! The season started in the NBA with three big games and three big stars showing what they are made off.

The champs Cleveland Cavaliers got their rings and beat the New York Knicks 117-88 behind a triple double by LeBron James (19 p., 11 r., 14 as.). Latvian Kristaps Porzingis did his best for the losing side (16 p., 7 r.), Frenchman Joakim Noah had 6 rebounds and 3 assists, Lithuanian Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 7 points off the bench, Spaniard Willy Hernangomez added 4 and Slovenian Sasha Vujacic had 1.

In Portland Damian Lillard had 39 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists on the way to a 113-104 win over Utah, becoming the first player with those kind of numbers in a season opener after Michael Jordan. For the Jazz the French duo of Rudy Gobert who had a double double (12 p., 14 r.) and Boris Diaw (2 p., 3 r.) couldn’t change the course of the game.

Finally the Spurs thanks to a career high by Kawhi Leonard (35 p.) destroyed the Warriors on the road (129-100). Spanish star Pau Gasol added 2 points and 4 rebounds for the winning side, French icon Tony Parker had 9 points and 4 assists, while Latvian Davis Bertans added 5 points off the bench. Georgan Zaza Pachulia had 2 points and 3 rebounds for the Warriors.
