Maccabi Tel Aviv clinched its first victory in the new Euroleague era after defeating Galatasaray 92-82 at home. Meanwhile, the Turkish team is now in a 0-3 record and will look for its first positive result in the competition on Thursday vs Fenerbahce.

Coach Ataman’s players had a fine 27-18 start but it all went downhill from there, since Maccabi reacted and got things under control.

With the two teams close in the fourth period and the game up for grabs, big buckets by Sonny Weems (23 p., 5 r.) and Devin Smith (17 p.) helped their team preserve its lead, while Colton Iverson (17 p., 5 r.) also made sure that the job will get done.

Once more the “Cimbom” were ultimately betrayed by their horrid defense. On the other end, Justin Dentmon dropped 22 points, Vladimir Micov had 18 and Sinan Guler 15.
