Baskonia managed to dominate Darussafaka completely and defended its homecourt with an exceptional 73-52 win. Sito Alonso’s team now stands at 7-4, while David Blatt’s one fell to 5-6 in the league standings.

With notable performances by Shane Larkin (14 points, 5 assists), Rodrigue Beaubois (12 points, 4 rebounds) and Johannes Voigtmann (10 points, 9 rebounds), the Spanish team pulled off a rather easy win without accelerating too much in the game.

For Darussafaka, James Anderson was the only one to score in double digits (11 points), while the most noteworthy stat is Brad Wanamaker‘s -10 index rating!

With a double score in the first period (18-9), the mood has been set from early on. Tornike Shengelia and Voigtmann dominated during the first half, while the visitors were kept at just 11 points, 14 minutes in the game. It is to be noted that Darussafaka’s overall index rating evaluation was… 1 at halftime, with the score being 37-19.

Things didn’t seem to change in the second half, as Baskonia started expanding the lead to inapproachable heights (20+ points). With terrific defense, the Spanish team kept their opponents at 14 points in the third period.

Even though the visitors’ performance in the final period outdid Baskonia 18-19, it wasn’t enough to let them make a comeback to the game. James Anderson drilled a buzzer three at the end of the game, yet he couldn’t drop the deficit to less than 21 points.
