Orthez wins the 100th “clasico” against Limoges

While Monaco leads the standings in the French ProA, this weekend belonged to a historic match up.

Elan bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez, winners of 9 French league titles and a Korac Cup in 1984, hosted Limoges CSP, 11 times French league champion and Euroleague, Saporta Cup and 3 times Korac Cup winner, for the 100th game between the two dynasties of French basketball.

It was a special occasion as you can see from the images on the stands and Orthez got the 89-57 win. Alain Koffi with 17 points and D.J.Cooper with 15 points and 13 assists led the charge, while Klemen Prepelic had 16 points and Ousmane Camara scored 15 for Limoges.

This result brings them to the third place with a 11-5 record, behind Monaco (14-2) – which beat fourth placed Nanterre (10-6) – and Chalon/Saone (12-4). Limoges is currently 11th in the standings with a 7-9 record.
