As the Boston Globe reports, French forward Guerschon Yabusele, the 16th overall pick of last month’s NBA Draft by the Celtics, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association.

With bonuses, Yabusele could make up to $1.5 million next season, a number near to his NBA salary according to the rookie salary scale. What’s interesting is that so far no European player picked in the first round of the draft has gone to China in order to work on his game.

In general the Chinese league is not considered as the best place for a player to grow and it remains to be seen if Yabusele’s experience can change that.
