The Kings and free-agent point guard Jordan Farmar have agreed to a contract, according to “The Sacramento Bee”.

With the addition of Farmar, the Kings have three veteran point guards entering training camp, including Darren Collison and recent signee Ty Lawson. Rookie point guard Isaiah Cousins, a second-round pick from Oklahoma, also is on the roster.

Lawson and Farmar likely will compete for the starting job, as Collison is expected to receive a lengthy league suspension after recently pleading guilty to a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.

Farmar, 29, is a nine-year veteran who helped the Los Angeles Lakers win NBA championships in 2009 and 2010. His career averages are 7.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists. He began the 2015-16 season playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, then joined the Memphis Grizzlies for the final 12 regular-season games and four postseason games. In Memphis, Farmar played for coach Dave Joerger, now the Kings’ coach.
