Janis Blums became 34 years old some months ago but he thinks about continuing to play in the Latvian national team, in order to participate in the seventh Eurobasket of his career.

He was by far the most experienced player of Latvia in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament of Belgrade. The defeat from Puerto Rico doomed his country’s national team in an early elimination from the competition and Blums explained that: “We lost a lot of rebounds and they scored many second chance points. Another reason for the defeat is that we couldn’t make our three-point shots. We had a bad percentage”.

Did we see the last ‘dance’ of him with the Latvian national team? “I will think about this for sure. We will see. Next year is the Eurobasket so maybe Ι will play my.. seventh Eurobasket in a row. Maybe not. We will see about my physical condition and if the coach will stay.”
