After the crucial win of Khimki over Lokomotiv Kuban, the star of the winners Alexey Shved gave an interview on the official website of VTB League about his return in action.

Shved has recently recovered from his injury, but his mind was set on playing as soon as possible: “I only practiced twice with the team. I started practicing with the ball about a week ago.” Whether it would be Lokomotiv or not, Shved was ready to return in action. “Naturally, I would have played against any opponent today. It’s my physical condition and readiness that matters, not the opponent. If I’m ready to play, expect to see me on the court.”

“I missed basketball of course”, he admits. “I didn’t touch a ball for almost two months. That’s a long time for a basketball player!”

When asked about Khimki’s newest foreigners, E.J. Rowland, Justin Carter, Nobel Boungou Colo, Shved stated: “I think it’s still early to talk about that. The season has only started and there’s still time to get in peak condition.”

Shved scored 21 points against Lokomotiv in his return. As he said: “To be honest, again, I really missed basketball! I didn’t think about scoring a lot of points. I wanted to help the team get a win. But I’m happy that my return turned out this way”.
