Barcelona rules out Smits, Bolmaro enters for ACB return

Barcelona faces Joventut Badalona for the return of the ACB League on Wednesday afternoon and Roland Smits has been ruled out of the roster with Leandro Bolmaro taking his place.

19-year-old Bolmaro has earned the trust of coach Pesic and participated in several ACB and EuroLeague games during the 2019-20 season and could see more playtime upon the return to action, given the absences of Thomas Heurtel (coach decision) and Pau Ribas.

There was a lot of expectation on the Argentinian prospect that, however, today wasn’t close to his best version. He started the game anxious and with a lot of energy -he committed quickly a foul on Zagars in a bonus situation- and ended without finding his best feelings -4 points and 2 assists in 9:32 minutes- and the team was -18 with him on the court. His presence on the court coincided with the moments of the rival.

On the other hand, he did contribute with good minutes in defensive end, in which he continues growing. Its size and lateral speed make it a piece of great value for Pesic and for his closest future, both in Europe and in an NBA that awaits him with open arms.
