Real Madrid struggled for 30 minutes against Hiopos Lleida but ultimately got a 95 – 84 win behind a powerful performance in the fourth quarter. Thanks to this victory, the Blancos march to the Copa Del Rey tournament as the ACB standings leaders at 16-4.
Mario Hezonja led Real with 22 points and 12 rebounds, scoring 8 in the fourth period. Facu Campazzo had 17 points and Sergio Llull added 16 points plus eight assists.
Keye van der Vuurst de Vries had 12 points plus nine rebounds and Luka Bozic posted 12 points along with six boards for Lleida that was up 65 – 63 near the end of the third period. Real went on to make a 2 – 16 run to go up 67 – 79 with 6:18 to play and retained a distance of at least two possessions for the remainder of the match.
