Mario Hezonja scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds as Real Madrid beat Baxi Manresa 92 – 69 to advance to the Spanish Copa del Rey semifinal.
Sergio Llull added 13 points for a Real Madrid team that had a dominant 21 – 8 second-period output to close halftime up 43 – 30. The Blancos went up 60 – 39 early in the third quarter and then held back every attempt Manresa made to significantly reduce that deficit.
Derrick Alston Jr. (17 points, five rebounds), Alfonso Reyes (14 points) and Bodian Massa (14 points) stood out from Manresa.
Facu Campazzo and Andres Feliz contributed 11 points apiece to Real Madrid’s win.
Real Madrid will play against tournament host Gran Canaria after the latter’s 79 – 65 victory over Valencia.
Mike Tobey led Gran Canaria with 19 points and seven rebounds. Jean Montero (15 points, five rebounds) was the only player in double figures from Valencia.
