UCAM Murcia completes the comeback and defeats Barça

UCAM Murcia defeated Barça after taking the lead for the first time in the game with just ten seconds remaining, thanks to a three-pointer by Nakic.

UCAM Murcia have managed to carry over into the second half of the season the strong impressions they made in the first.

Sito Alonso’s side edged past Barça 84–83, a scoreline that reflects how close the game was, though not how it unfolded.

The hosts led the scoreboard only once throughout the entire game, and that moment bore the signature of Toni Nakic, whose three-pointer sealed the victory for the Murcia side.

Davontae Cacok (23 points) and David DeJulius (19 points) shared the spotlight for UCAM, while scoring was more evenly distributed for Barça. Nico Laprovittola (15), Jan Vesely (13), Will Clyburn (10), and Youssoupha Fall (11) were the players under Xavi Pascual to reach double figures.

Despite Barça holding double-digit leads for much of the game, UCAM Murcia never gave up and managed to heat up—and eventually level—the contest.

The ejection of Cacok, the best player on the court up to that point, did not dampen the home side’s comeback spirit, and everything went their way in the final minute.

After Nakic’s three-pointer, Barça had two free throws from Vesely, a three-point attempt by Punter, and another two-point shot from the Czech to win the game, but none of them went in and the 84–83 scoreline remained unchanged.
