Real Madrid has reacted quickly following the injuries to Edy Tavares and Alex Len, who are unlikely to return to play this season, and has secured the services of Ömer Yurtseven.

BasketNews reported that negotiations between the two parties were at an advanced stage, and today, Pilar Casado confirmed that the signing is only pending a medical examination, making him a Real Madrid player until the end of the season.

The Turkish player will not be part of the roster for the EuroLeague Final Four, as the deadline for registering players passed weeks ago, but he could play in the Liga Endesa, with Real Madrid entering the playoffs as the top seed from the regular season.

Ömer Yurtseven, who left Panathinaikos on February 28, averaged 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 19 EuroLeague games in his last season with the Greek team.

After leaving Panathinaikos, the Turkish center returned to the United States, where he played in the G-League and appeared in nine NBA games with the Golden State Warriors. In those games, Ömer averaged 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds.
