Unicaja Malaga wants Mavroeidis

By Vaggelis Patas/ info@eurohoops.net

With Richard Hendrix already on his way to Maccabi Tel Aviv, Unicaja Malaga is searching for his replacement. The team has already shown an interest to Dimitris Mavroeidis of AEK.

The Andalusian club has expressed that interest to the player’s side, but AEK has the last word. Although the Greek team doesn’t have an offer in its hands, for now, one may appear during the next days.

Club’s president Makis Aggelopoulos is abroad for business affairs and he is the one that will make the final decision when, and if, Unicaja Malaga makes its interest formal.

So far, the president of AEK has shown that he is not really keen on letting key players leave the team. However, no possibility should be excluded.

In the current Greek Basket League season,  Dimitris Mavroeidis has averaged  10,3 points and 6 rebounds. He has also competed in Eurocup scoring  8.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, during six matches of the Regular Season. The 30 year old Greek center is quite familiar with Liga Endesa, since he has played there for two years, during 2010-2012, with Bilbao.
