The “Whites” got the 87-76 win despite a valiant effort by the guests who twice made a four points game first midway in the third period (52-48) and then four minutes before the end (76-72).

The first time Madrid reacted with a 9-2 run (61-50) and the second a three by Carroll restored order, despite an off night by Sergio LLull who scored just 7 points. Trent Lockett had 18 points and 6 rebounds for the losing side, while Strahinja Milosevic added 17 points and veteran Carlos Cabezas who was added to the roster two days before the game made his debut.

Real Madrid has now a 20-7 record which is good enough for the top spot of the Liga Endesa standings. Real Betis at 8-19 remains in danger of relegating and the change of coach Zan Tabak who was replaced by Alejandro Martinez didn’t change much, at least in the final result of this game.
