Valencia dominated the game and prevailed 87-76 over Madrid, which tried to turn things around in the last quarter, made it a six points game (75-69) but couldn’t get closer.

Joan Sastre with 19 points was the top scorer, while Bojan Dubljevic was named the MVP of the finals. After trailing by one point (20-19) at the first period, Valencia thanks to a 26-3 run got a 20 points lead (43-23) and a 17 points advantage at half time (48-31).

The hosts led also by 22 points (53-31), still Madrid thanks to a 8-0 run ended the third period trailing by 11 points (67-56). The “Whites” didn’t have energy, but they had pride and with Sergio Llull finishing the game with 23 points, they made their come back, using zone defense. Still in the end it was not enough.

The difference in the level of energy was obvious on the rebounds. Valencia got in total 47, while Madrid had onle 24. And for the first time since 2010 the Spanish league champion is not named Barcelona or Real Madrid.
