Higher Sports Council (CSD) president Jose Ramon Lete called the Spanish clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Baskonia, Unicaja Malaga and Valencia) that are EuroLeague bound for the next season to a meeting, Monday, to discuss the intention of the first four to leave ACB and possibly launch a new league, as reported by AS.

On Wednesday representatives from Real, Barcelona, Baskonia and Malaga met in the restaurant “Blau” of Barcelona to examine options of exiting ACB (Association of Basketball Clubs) and creating a new domestic championship.

This meeting didn’t include reigning champion Valencia, but Lete decided to invite them as well in order to address this rising crisis in Spanish basketball before getting out of hand.
