Facu Campazzo scored 5 out of his game-high 18 points in the last five minutes, leading Real Madrid to an 89 – 84 victory over Unicaja Malaga in the second Copa Del Rey quarterfinal.

The Argentinian guard also scored the last pair of free throws to put his team at a two-possession distance, while dishing out 7 assists.

Rudy Fernandez also delivered some crucial baskets for the “Blancos” with five points in a row that transformed the score from 72 – 77 to 77 – 77 with 3 minutes remaining. He finished with 11 points.

Malaga had previously taken a 7-point lead, 70 – 77 but that was erased in almost one minute. They once again went ahead 79 – 81 thanks to Carlos Suarez (Unicaja’s top scorer 17 points) only for Real to respond with what was proven to be a decisive 7-0 run for the 86 – 81.

Trey Thompkins added 14 points for Real. Potential no. 1 pick in the NBA Draft Luka Doncic struggled with his shooting (3/11) but managed 11 points, 5 rebounds plus 5 assists.

For Malaga, Adam Waczynski scored 15 and Nemanja Nedovic 11.

Real Madrid will face Iberostar Tenerife, that beat Valencia, in the semifinal.
