Svetislav Pesic: I’ve already started talking with Barcelona about my future

Barcelona head coach Svetislav Pesic revealed that there are already discussions with the team’s management regarding his future in the club.

“Nacho Rodriguez (Barcelona GM) and I have started talking about my future, but let’s see what happens,” Pesic said in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

The “Blaugrana” saw a major transformation taking place since Pesic took over as head coach back in February. Pesic earned the players’ trust, the team won the Spanish Copa Del Rey with a victory over archrival Real Madrid in the Final and also closed the EuroLeague regular season with four wins in the last six games, including a rout over Olympiacos on the road.

The Serbian coach’s arrival benefited the team big time and it won’t be surprising if the club trusts him to continue at the helm in the next season.

“In recent days we have started talking but we haven’t made a decision. If Barcelona wants me to continue? Well, of course. If I say that we’re talking it’s because we’re talking about it. We’ll see.”

Pesic also said the following regarding his future plans.

“I know recognize that there are other things in this life other than basketball. As a coach, since 1982, I’ve always lived basketball with great intensity. I can’t be a coach from 10 to 12 and from 6 to 8 in the afternoon. There are coaches who can do it, I but I can’t do that. In more than a year I’ve done things in basketball. Campuses, clinics. Watching games. A time has come when I tell myself that I have to start something new in my life, I don’t know if that’s in five years, a year or tomorrow. Is it better to make the decision now or in five years? This is my dilemma.”
