Doncic, Madrid make it 2-1 against Baskonia

After splitting the first two games in Madrid, Real Madrid stole Game 3 of the Spanish League Finals in Vitoria, defeating Baskonia 78-83.

The game was decided in the final three minutes. Madrid was up by one point (76-77) as Jaycee Carroll (15p.) was scoring from deep. Doncic was orchestrating the offense, Tavares on the block was scoring and so the visitors increased their lead (76-79). Finally, Doncic’s free-throws put the cherry on top (76-81).

Luka Doncic and Walter Tavares were decisive for the winners. The 19-year old phenom flirted with a double-double of 20 points (10/11 FT) and nine rebounds. Real’s big man scored seven points, grabbed eight rebounds, but he also had five blocks.

From the losing team, Rodrigue Beaubois put up 17 points.

The contest was competitive early on, as both teams recognized the importance of this pivotal Game 3 (19-18). At the half, Baskonia had a two-point lead (42-40).

With Luka Doncic on fire, scoring 18 points in the first 27 minutes, Real Madrid went up ahead (55-58). Heading into the final period, the visitors had a two-point lead (63-65).
