Unics Kazan is still one of the main favorites to participate in next season’s Euroleague via the competition’s qualifying round, however the Russian team will try to succeed without injured American swingman Kelly McCarty who was hurt during practice and tore his meniscus. As it was announced by the club via twitter, he will be off the courts for the next month.

McCarty has also a Russian passport, he is been playing in Russia since 2004 and this is going to be his third season in Unics. The team has a roster full of experienced players, including former “Blaugrana” forward Chuck Eidson and former members of Panathinaikos Ian Vougioukas and Kostas Kaimakoglou.

Italian club Cantu, the team that will host the Euroleague qualifying round, added in its roster on loan from Pallacanestro Reggiana Czech guard Jakub Kudlacek.
