Two players of the Israel national team currently located in Poland have tested positive for coronavirus, per multiple reports. Both players are asymptomatic and were quarantined while awaiting the results of the second COVID-19 test.

Israel, already secured a 2022 EuroBasket berth, is scheduled to wrap up the Qualifiers stage facing Romania Friday and Spain Sunday at Gliwice, Poland.

Idan Zalmanson received a call-up but did not follow his national team to Poland due to a family member recently found positive for coronavirus.

Head coach Oded Kattash did make the trip after returning to Israel. His side at the club level, Panathinaikos OPAP, facing multiple positive tests had two Turkish Airlines EuroLeague fixtures, originally scheduled to be held this week, postponed.
