Parker on top, Galis still untouchable

Tony Parker is the new all time top scorer in the history of Eurobaskets, leaving legendary Greek guard Nick Galis in the second place. However, on points average, Galis’ record is still untouchable.

Parker needed 61 games in order to reach 1030, while Galis did it in just 33 matches. That gives to the “gangster”, as he was nicknamed because of the way he was gazing his opponents, an amazing 31,2 points per game, while the same number of Parker is just 16,9 points per game. Not a bad number, but it just can’t be compared with Galis’ performance who is the only player who have won the top scorer title in four Eurobasket tournaments.

However Galis soon is going to be number 3 in the all time scoring list, since an other modern day legend, Dirk Nowitzki is the next in the line to surpass him. So far the great German has 1013 career Eurobasket points in 46 games, an average of 22,02 points.
