Luka Doncic and possibly Goran Dragic in for Slovenia

Maybe a little complicated but also a happy situation emerged for the Slovenia senior national team.

Goran Dragic was included in the preliminary squad of 20 players for the 2022 EuroBasket. Initially slated to return to the national team and retire during the recent international window and Slovenia’s key games for the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, he has yet to make a final decision whether he will play or not in the approaching EuroBasket. Nevertheless, the 36-year-old point guard is on the list released by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, KZS, Wednesday.

As expected, Luka Doncic is the major highlight of the 20-man roster. In early September, the Dallas Mavericks superstar will be representing his country in Germany before switching focus to the 2022-23 NBA Regular Season.

National team selector, Aleksander Sekulic also departed ERA Nymburk to take over Lokomotiv Kuban at the club level Wednesday. His remaining national call-ups include a couple of players missing the recent World Cup Qualifiers due to injury, Vlatko Cancar and Klemen Prepelic.
