Despite the reports about Tomas Satoransky missing the Eurobasket, things are quite different at the moment. The MRI exam showed that the star of the Czech national team suffered a severe sprain in his right ankle and he is trying to be back on time for the Eurobasket tipoff.

Even if he can’t be ready for the first game of his team on the 2nd of September against Poland, he is expected to be part of the final roster in hopes that he can play later in a tournament which is considered the pinnacle for his generation of Czech players and it’s partly hosted on his home country.

“The magnetic resonance examination was the same as the other examination. Tomas remains in Prague to rehabilitate intensively. We will know the results of rehabilitation and treatment in a week after the next resonance, which will indicate further progress towards EuroBasket,” said national team manager Michal Sob while talking to the local press.

“Satoransky’s mentality is set in such a way that he wants to do what’s 100% possible to participate in the championship,” he added. The team did not disclose the exact diagnosis after consulting with the player.

Satoransky was injured on Friday during a preparatory tournament in Hamburg against Germany.
