Olympiacos Piraeus center Moustapha Fall is back with the French national team almost a month after it was announced that he’s leaving the training camp due to a thigh injury and three days before the EuroBasket (1/9 – 18/9) tips off.

Per the French Basketball Federation, Fall received the green light from the doctors of Olympiacos and will gradually return to full action so that his recovery will be completely smooth. He will join Les Bleus in Cologne where Group B of the EuroBasket preliminary stage will be held.

Fall’s return forced the exit of Virtus Bologna big man Mam Jaiteh from the EuroBasket team given the presence of centers Rudy Gobert and Vincent Poirier on the roster. “I had recently told Mam about the potential return of Moustapha,” France coach Vincent Collet said. “His seriousness and self-sacrifice were a real contribution and an example for all of us.”

Swingman Isaia Cordinier, Jaiteh’s Virtus teammate, was also cut while the 12-man squad for the EuroBasket has yet to be finalized.
