One-way traffic most of the way to break a tie on top of the Group A standings, early in the final Qualification Round of the 2025 EuroBasket.

Overcoming a slow start and a 14-point deficit, Slovenia retained the lead for 24 minutes on the way to an 88-79 victory against Israel in Bonifika Arena on Sunday.

Three players delivering strong scoring contributions pushed the team coached by Aleksander Sekulic to 2-0 in the four-team group. Galatasaray Ekmas star Klemen Prepelic paired his 21 points with seven assists, Mike Tobey posted a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double, and Gregor Hrovat ended up with 16 points in Gameday 2 of the Qualifiers.

In Koper, the home side was down 16-2, late in the first quarter. Confidently taking over, the second lead change of the evening was the last with the separation growing into a safe distance during the second half. The lead peaked at 16 points before settling at nine points.

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet’s Tobey fueled the 48-22 edge in rebounds, and Prepelic and Hrovat proudly displayed a large chunk of the 59-25 advantage in points from the bench. A big win with Krka guard Leon Stergar adding eight points and five rebounds. Experienced big Ziga Dimec had six points and four rebounds.

The team coached by Ariel Avraham Beit-Halahm was forced down to 1-1. Yam Madar produced a team-high 19 points and Tomer Ginat put up a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double in the loss.
