Belgium pulled off an unforgettable comeback to retain their EuroBasket Women’s title, erasing a 12-point deficit in the final three minutes to defeat Spain 67–65 in the gold medal game in Piraeus.
Down 65–53 with under three minutes to play, Belgium closed the game on a stunning 14–0 run. Julie Allemand hit key shots to spark the rally, but it was Antonia Delaere who delivered the go-ahead basket after intercepting a pass and finishing at the rim with just seconds left.
Emma Meesseman led the way with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, earning MVP honors. Kyara Linskens scored 17, and Allemand added a game-high 19 points.
Spain, in control for most of the night, collapsed under pressure late. Four players scored in double figures, but critical turnovers — including a costly traveling violation by Raquel Carrera in the final seconds — allowed Belgium to complete one of the most memorable finishes in tournament history.
