Greece downs Belgium to begin EuroBasket preparation games

Greece tipped off its preparation games ahead of the 2025 EuroBasket by beating Belgium 74 – 60 in Athens. The winning side dominated the final quarter 22-11 to get the victory.

Dinos Mitoglou stood out from Greece with 18 points in 17:24. No Greek player spent more than 21 minutes on the floor, with Tyler Dorsey registering a team-high 20:09.

Hans Vanwijn led Belgium with 19 points and seven rebounds.

Greece superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was out while his older brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo played his first game after 461 games, scoring six points in 12:34.

Late in the first half, Greece big man Vangelis Zougris was forced to exit the game, suffering a right ankle lesion.

Zougris who has committed to play next season in the NCAA with the Louisville Cardinals will have an MRI and his status will be announced tomorrow.
