Franz Wagner scored 29 points and grabbed six rebounds as Germany beat Spain 95 – 78 to conclude its EuroBasket training camp games 5-1.
Dennis Schroder provided Germany with 22 points and nine assists, creating a formidable duo together with Wagner. Their team entered the game hot to take a 24 – 11 advantage after the 10 minutes and led 49 – 39 at halftime.
Spain reacted in the third quarter and approached 58 – 53. With score 76 – 71 and 4:43 to play, Germany made a 12-0 run to cruise to win down the stretch.
Sergio De Larrea had 14 points for Spain. Santi Yusta added 13 points. Spain, the EuroBasket defending champion, will march to the tournament with a 1-5 record in preparation matches.
