Fenerbahce Arena confirmed as FIBA EuroBasket 2017 venue

Fenerbahce Arena has been confirmed as Turkey’s Group Phase venue for FIBA EuroBasket 2017.

The Board of FIBA Europe which convened in Istanbul, on Monday, approved a proposal brought forward by the Turkish Local Organising Committee, which was supported by the Turkish Basketball Federation, to switch the Group Phase venue from Abdi Ipekci to Fenerbahce Arena.

Fenerbahce Arena is a state-of-the-art venue that fulfils the requirements of the event. It is the home venue of the Fenerbahce men’s and women’s basketball teams and hosted the 2016 EuroLeague Women Final Four.

The FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Group Phase will be played in Helsinki (Finland); Tel Aviv (Israel); Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Istanbul (Turkey) while the Final Phase will be played in Sinan Erdem Arena in Istanbul.

The Official Draw Ceremony will take place in Istanbul on Tuesday 22 November, at 15:00 CET and will be streamed globally on YouTube.com/FIBA.
