The Ukrainian national team really wanted to march to the EuroBasket arenas with Pooh Jeter on board but apparently, this won’t be the case. The naturalized American guard who was present in the 2013 EuroBasket and 2014 World up will stay out this year.

“We have tried to reach an agreement with Pooh Jeter but unfortunately, he will not come for family reasons,” team manager Andrey Levedev said to French website BeBasket.

Ukraine had Jerome Randle on the roster for the 2015 edition of the tournament, but this time, it will proceed without a naturalized player at all

“So we will go to EuroBasket without a naturalized player because we don’t want to bring someone we don’t know. We will only have Ukrainians and this will be the opportunity to develop our young players,” added Levedev.

Ukraine plays in Group B and will face Italy, Lithuania, Georgia, Germany and hosts Israel. Four teams advance to the next stage from each Group.
