Lithuania added to Israeli woes

On the contrary, after losing to Georgia, Lithuania bounced back and got the easy 88-73 win. After a close first half which ended with Israel training just by one point (38-37), the third period started with a 12-2 run by Lithuania (50-39) and ended with a 20-point lead for the winners (71-51).

That was the end of the game, Israel couldn’t get close and the home crowd left disappointed once again.

The star: Edgaras Ulanovas scored 18 points, but Arturas Gudaitis and Mindaugas Kuzminskas led the charge with 16 points each. The Knicks forward did everything on the court, had also five rebounds and four assists and he is emerging as the leader of this version of Lithuania.

The rebounds: The Lithuanian domination in the paint was incredible. The finished the game with 43 rebounds against 21 by Israel. Lithuania had 14 offensive rebounds and Israel 16 defensive. That means that there was almost a 50% chance for a loose ball in Israel’s paint to end up in Lithuanian hands.

Richard Howell with 20 points, Gal Mekel with 18 and Omri Casspi with 15 points tried their best for Israel, but it was far from enough.
