Clint Capela might be cleared off his NBA duties until the start of the new season, though he is currently with the Swiss national team, chasing a spot in the EuroBasket qualifiers.
However, Switzerland’s place just got a bit worse after suffering an 84-68 defeat from Portugal in Gameday 4 of the third round of the pre-qualifiers.
The nation falls to a 1-2 record behind Portugal (2-1) in Group H with two games remaining. If the tide doesn’t turn around, Capela will have no more NT duties until 2022. In order to advance, the Swiss have to clinch the top spot of their group.
For the record, Capela finished the game with 13 points and 11 rebounds across 27 minutes on the court.
