AS Monaco Basket was in need of a point guard after Khadeen Carrington suffered a right knee injury that will keep him sidelined for at least six months, and they have found a solution in Nikola Rebic.

“Nikola is an intelligent player, young but already with experience since he has played at the Red Star, Spain, Russia, Montenegro … With the injury of Khadeen Carrington we really needed a free player for this position, with a European passport. Nikola Rebic is a fast, far-sighted point guard with a 3-point shot. He grew up in a good school at the Red Star. We hope that he will integrate quickly for the next challenges,” coach Zvezdan Mitrovic said.

The 25-year-old Serbian guard averaged 8.3 points and 3.5 assists in 20 minutes for Enisey last season.

Rebic wished all the best to his former teammates Carrington and is looking forward to helping the team: “I am very happy to join AS Monaco, an ambitious and recognized club, which has played the leading roles in the league and in the European Cups for several seasons. I want to have a thought for Khadeen first. We were teammates in Mornar. He is a very good player and a great guy, very appreciated in the group. I was made very welcome and hope to give my best quickly. Monaco is an armed team in all positions with great potential.”
