Promitheas Patras announced four new COVID cases in their roster and asked for the EuroCup game against Trento to be postponed.

However, with the club having registered junior players in their roster, they have more than eight players available and according to the latest protocols they should play like it happened last week in the road game against Gran Canaria.

Promitheas Coach Makis Giatras (photo) who protested last week about the fact that his team had to arrive on game day to the Canary Islands and play despite missing key players, added before the game against Trento: “COVID has created a special situation, we have many issues due to the virus plus injuries. Every day we have something new to face, so I only hope and wish to be healthy”.

Former club president Vangelis Liolios who is a candidate for the presidency of the Greek basketball federation added: “During this crazy season, no decision surprises me anymore.  In those kinds of conditions, you see true leaders separate themselves from those who are just administrators. Leaders are shaping the progression while administrations are always one step behind”.
