Brodziansky’s career-high pushes Badalona past Lokomotiv

Vladimir Brondziasky scored a new career-high 31 points as Joventut Badalona crushed Lokomotiv Kuban 100 – 77 in Round 7 of the EuroCup regular season.

Not only did Brondziasky overall define this battle between EuroCup contenders but also hit two birds with one stone in the last moments with the 3-pointer that broke his scoring record and put Badalona at the 100-point mark. He shot 6-8 2-pointer, 2-6 triples and 13-14 free throws in 28:10 minutes.

Lokomotiv led 22 – 27 at the end of the first quarter but fell behind and trailed 50 – 46 at halftime. Brondziaksy produced 11 points in the third quarter when Badalona overpowered the Russian side 30 – 12 to enter the final period up 22.

Badalona continued with the same pace to even lead by 31 points, 97 – 66, en route to a stunning win. Pau Ribas pitched in 18 points and Ferran Bassas had 11 points plus eight assists.

Errick McCollum dropped 23 points for Loko. Stanislav Ilnitskyi scored 14.

In Belgrade, Partizan routed Dolomiti Energia Trento 97 – 55. The Serbian powerhouse was dominant from start to finish despite missing players due to COVID-19.

Yam Madar scored a season-high 18 points and Kevin Punter with Dallas Moore finished with 17 points apiece for Partizan. Andrea Mezzanotte led Trento with 15 points.

Dovydas Giedraitis scored 25 points as Lietkabelis Panevezys defeated Boulogne Metropolitns 96 – 89.

On Tuesday (12/1), Caleb Homesley put on a superb performance as the Hamburg Towers rolled over Turk Telekom.
