The new season in Eurocup started with two matches between French and Spanish teams. Both games took place in France. And the Spanish teams triumphed in both matches, as Gran Canaria beat Le Mans and Valencia was victorious against Nancy.

A few days after the great victory against Real Madrid in the ACB, Valencia beat Nancy in a late thriller, thanks to a three-point shot by Sam Van Rossom, 17 seconds before the end of the game. Apart from the Belgian, who had 12 points in total, Boyan Dubljevic (13 points), Luke Sikma (10 points, seven rebounds) and Jon Stefansson (10 points) made a decent performance. For the French team, Benjamin Sene and Andy Panko both had 13 points.

The situation was the same in Le Mans as well, with the French team losing 79-74 to Gran Canaria. The Spaniards had control of the game, but Petr Cornelie was 5 for 5 from the three-point range and made a big come-back for the French, however Aitor Reneses’ team stood tall at the end and earned the victory, thanks to their high free-throw percentage and a big three-point play from Eulis Baez.
