William Howard signs with Joventut, Venezia adds Allerik Freeman

After a couple of seasons at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, French forward William Howard moved on to Joventut.

Howard, 28, signed a contract for the 2022-23 season, the team based in Badalona announced Thursday. He will return to the 7DAYS EuroCup as a veteran of 34 games played between Limoges CSP in 2017-18 and 2018-19, and BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque in 2013-14. Attached to ASVEL, he made his way to 43 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague fixtures, including putting up 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest last season. In 2019-20, he logged two games played in the NBA for the Houston Rockets. Joventut relying on the 2021-22 squad previously brought in Henry Ellenson.

A former teammate of Howard at ASVEL, Allerik Freeman found a new home in Umana Reyer Venezia. Last season, he made his EuroCup debut as a member of Frutti Extra Buraspor before ending up at CSKA in February. Coming out of North Carolina in 2018, he has played in Turkey, France, Russia, Hungary, and China before landing in Italy and emerging as the eighth newcomer for the team coached by Walter De Raffaele following Matteo Chillo, Jayson Granger, Riccardo Moraschini, Jordan Parks, Marco Spissu, Amedeo Tessitori, and Derek Willis.

Elsewhere, Buducnost VOLI announced power forward Aleksa Ilic will be part of the 2022-23 squad after spending the previous season on loan at SC Derby. The current roster additionally features Edin Atic, Trae Bell-Haynes, Phil Booth, Igor Drobnjak, Marko Jagodic-Kuridza, Kenan Kamnjas, Petar Popovic, Cameron Reynolds, and Kenan Reynolds.
