Approaching the most crucial games of the 2022-23 season at both the continental and domestic levels, Guillem Vives reached an agreement with Joventut Badalona to extend his contract until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Vives, 29, penned a three-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday.

A youth product of the Catalonia club paired with experience at the senior level, Vives switched to Valencia from 2014 to 2021. Returning to Badalona, he inked a 2+1 contract with the initial option effectively turning into a new contract.

“I am very happy about staying here because of the trust that the club has shown towards me,” he commented on the new deal, “Since I came back, I’ve felt at home and I experienced again what it is to play with the colors of the club you love. Here, you feel something extra that cannot be explained.”

Registering 4.9 points, 3.8 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per contest, the Barcelona-born point guard emerged among the key players for his side finishing second in Group A with a 13-5 record. Securing the homecourt advantage for the next round, the team coached by Carles Duran will face the London Lions, seeded seventh in Group B of the Regular Season.

In his 11th campaign in Spain’s Liga Endesa, Vives has put in 6.4 points, 3.9 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per ACB game in a 15-9 run. The W-L tally ranks fifth overall with ten fixtures left in the double-legged round-robin schedule.
