Nearly eight years after his last appearance, Will Cherry resurfaced in the BKT EuroCup, joining JL Bourg shortly after the French side clinched a berth in the postseason of the continental league. His contract lasts until the end of February, the team announced on Friday.

Cherry previously logged 33 appearances, spread between Cedevita in the 2017-18 edition and ALBA Berlin in the 2015-16 edition of the second tier of Euroleague Basketball. Reaching the top tier as well, he made his way to 13 EuroLeague games with Olympiacos and 15 with Zalgiris in the 2019-20 and 2014-15 seasons, respectively.

Focusing on overseas options after eight NBA games with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014, he also featured in the Basketball Champions League, FIBA Europe Cup, Basketball Champions League Asia, and FIBA West Asia Super League. Expanding his career to Venezuela in his most recent challenge, a spell with Cocodrilos amounted to 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game in the 2025 installment of the SPB.

A free agent from the top of the 2025-26 season, the former Montana standout in the NCAA between 2009 and 2013, Cherry is expected to formally join the team coached by Frederic Fauthoux next week, adding France as his newest European stop, following Lithuania, Germany, Turkiye, Croatia, Greece, and Italy.

Sitting first in Group B of the EuroCup Regular Season on an 11-2 record, Bourg has mathematically extended the campaign beyond the initial 18-game double-legged round-robin schedule. Domestically, a 10-4 tally is tied for second place in the Betclic Elite Regular Season standings.
