Tyler Cavanaugh takes Round MVP award in EuroCup’s regular-season finale

Tyler Cavanaugh was named Most Valuable Player of Round 18 of the 2025-26 BKT EuroCup Regular Season.

Euroleague Basketball formally confirmed the 32-year-old Bahcesehir Koleji forward as the latest MVP of the Round on Thursday, following the regular-season finale.

Per the press release: “Tyler Cavanaugh delivered a commanding performance to headline Round 18, guiding Bahcesehir College Istanbul past Neptunas Klaipeda 86-91 on the road to clinch a bye in the BKT EuroCup Eighthfinals and earn the MVP of the Round honors.

Cavanaugh’s impact was two-way and constant. He posted a PIR of 32 – the best among players on winning teams this week – while piling up 23 points and 10 rebounds for a polished double-double that kept Bahcesehir a step ahead in a tight contest. He made 4 of 7 two-pointers and 3 of 4 threes, while not missing any of his 6 free throws. The big man also contributed 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. This marks Cavanaugh’s first MVP of the Round and he becomes the sixth player to claim the honor in a Bahcesehir uniform.

Aris Thessaloniki Betsson guard Bryce Jones matched Cavanaugh’s PIR of 32, but his team fell 111-92 at UB-T Cluj Napoca. It was not due to lack of effort from Jones, though, as he put together a line of 24 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists.

Umoja Gibson turned in a sparkling all-around display for Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana with a PIR of 31 in an 81-114 road rout of Slask Wroclaw. Gibson scored 20 points and dished a career-high 9 assists.

Cluj’s Karel Guzman, Dolomiti Energia Trento’s Devante’ Jones and BAXI Manresa’s Agustin Ubal each registered PIRs of 27 in victories to round out the list of Round 18’s finest. Guzman missed just 2 shots in compiling 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Jones paired 24 points and 6 assists and Ubal scored 24 points off the bench and grabbed 4 rebounds.

Individual highs: Lietkabelis’s Fardaws Aimaq with 14 rebounds

A quartet tied for the top scoring mark of the round: Jared Harper (Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem), Bryce Jones (Aris Thessaloniki Betsson), Devante’ Jones (Dolomiti Energia Trento) and Agustin Ubal (BAXI Manresa) each scored 24. Harper (18.9 ppg.) finishes the regular season as the competition’s second-best scorer, trailing only Cluj’s Fatts Russell and his 19.6 average.

Fardaws Aimaq of Lietkabelis Panevezys dominated the glass with 14 rebounds to lead all Round 18 players. He also finished as the top rebounder in the regular season with 9.6 per game, nosing in front of Jerusalem’s Austin Wiley (9.5 rpg.).

Ferran Bassas of Manresa dished a round best 10 assists to pace the playmakers. Neptunas Klaipeda’s Arnas Velicka is the regular season assists king with 7.7 dimes per game.

Two players topped the steals chart with 4 apiece: Arnas Berucka of Neptunas and John Newman of NINERS Chemnitz. Turk Telekom dynamo Dogus Ozdemiroglu’s 2.1 steals per game made him the regular-season leader.

Matthew Hurt of Cedevita led the shot blockers with 3 rejections. Manresa’s Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu finished the regular season with 1.7 blocks per game to top the standings.

Four players recorded double-doubles in Round 18: Aimaq (14 points, 14 rebounds), Wiley (10 points, 12 rebounds), Ismael Kamagate of Besiktas (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Cavanaugh (23 points, 10 rebounds).”
